Approach
We structured the experience around four core principles: 1. Persona-Driven Design We defined distinct experiences for Portfolio Managers, Super Users, and Support teams. Each team demanded tailored entry points, views, and data access. For example, Portfolio Managers focus on a single book, Super Users require a multi-portfolio overview, while Support users need the ability to impersonate and troubleshoot across accounts. Our goal was to introduce the optimal persona based UX design for trading platforms. 2. Monitoring vs. Action Separation The mobile app for portfolio managers prioritizes monitoring and awareness, not full trade execution. This ensured clarity of purpose and avoided overloading the interface with unnecessary functionality. We built the interfaces distraction free, focused and lean. 3. High-Signal Data Abstraction Instead of exposing raw data structures, we translated performance into intuitive indicators such as visual P&L trends across time horizons (daily, weekly, monthly, yearly), trading portfolio exposure, and top movers. The use of visual cues is a proven UX design practice to reduce cognitive load, what was welcomed by our mobile users. 4. Seamless Backend Integration with Existing Systems The solution was designed to integrate tightly with existing backend services, ensuring consistent data while enabling a new interaction model that was optimized for the portfolio management mobile app.

Key Outcomes
Roko Labs delivered faster and smarter trading portfolio management to our client. The mobile-first portfolio monitoring app experience fundamentally changed how users engage with portfolio data throughout the day, shifting from reactive analysis to continuous, lightweight portfolio monitoring. Faster Decision-Making in Critical Moments. Glanceable metrics replaced multi-screen navigation. We distilled complex portfolio data into high-signal metrics and clear visual indicators so Portfolio Managers can assess performance and identify drivers within seconds. What previously required navigating multiple desktop views can now be accessed and understood in a matter of time, enabling quicker and more confident decisions in time-sensitive asset management market conditions. Boosted Engagement: Habitual Checks During Markets/Meetings. The mobile portfolio management experience made habitual portfolio monitoring possible. The more frequent application use resulted in significantly increased engagement boost with the asset managers. What previously required less accessible desktop use resulting in only periodic checks is now handled instantly, whenever needed and on the go. Portfolio managers can stay continuously informed, whether between meetings, during market hours, or outside the office. This shift supports a more proactive approach to portfolio management. Reduced Cognitive Load: Intuitive Summaries Surface Insights Instantly. By abstracting dense datasets into intuitive summaries (P&L trends, exposure, top movers), the trading application reduces the effort required to interpret performance. Users no longer need to parse through rows of data to understand what matters since the key insights are surfaced immediately. Role-Aligned Views: Efficiency Across Teams. Tailored views for Portfolio Managers, Super Users, and Support teams ensure that each user type sees only what is relevant to them. Senior stakeholders gain a clear, aggregated view across portfolios, while Support teams can quickly replicate user contexts to resolve issues more efficiently. All teams shifted from desktop bound reactive, to mobile-powered proactive monitoring, enhancing the institutional trading mobile outcomes.
